(This is part of our Back to School Survival Guide series this month on LifeTeen.com.)
It goes without saying, but praying is essential for life as a Catholic. Sophomore year is a unique place to be, as you get the hang of your high school hallways and move ever closer to becoming and upperclassman. To help start off this year, here is the “Prayer of the Sophomore,” written by Fr. Matt Lowry.
The Prayer of the Sophomore
Heavenly Father, thank you for the freedom you give me in life.
Help me to use that freedom to choose the good in every situation.
Grant me the perseverance to become the best person I can be.
When I fall, help me to know that your arms are always open to welcome me back.
Give me courage to be a good example to my friends,
and a source of joy to my family.
Grant this through Christ our Lord
Amen.
