Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 03 (Life Teen), Day 05

“Life Teeners” spent the last full day of camp in prayer and friendly competition. Campers spent the morning split in a men’s session and a women’s session. After a morning of prayer and fellowship, it was time to get messy! Teens spent the afternoon competing in the gauntlet. In the evening, teens were able to spend time in their small groups.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 03 (Life Teen), Day 04

Teens spent day four conquering their fears and diving into epic prayer. Some spent the morning on the high and low ropes course while the other half spent the day white water rafting. In the evening, Dan Huss gave a talk about epic prayer and teens had a chance to talk to God through reflection and journaling. The night ended with the most epic form of prayer, adoration.

2011 Camp Covecrest, Week 03 (Life Teen), Day 03

Teens spent day three at Camp Covecrest conquering their fears! Some went white water rafting while others tackled the high and low ropes courses. After everyone went on their “epic adventures,’ Dan Huss, this week’s host, led a session about the Holy Spirit. Core members, youth ministers and summer missionaries were able to pray over the teens and each other. Everyone went on an epic adventure together by diving into the Holy Spirit through prayer.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 03 (Life Teen), Day 02

Camp Covecrest kicked off day two of “Epic Adventures” with some messy games! Teens enjoyed some friendly competition with water balloons, slides and mud! After wrestling in the mud pit, campers cleaned up to celebrate Mass with Fr. Chris Dunlap. Campers continued their “epic adventure” by diving into the sacrament of reconciliation. They also had a chance to reflect and journal.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 03 (Life Teen), Day 01

“Life Teeners” from all over came to Camp Covecrest today to start their “epic adventure.” Teens enjoyed a medieval festival complete with jousting, chariot racing and pies. After the festival, teens were welcomed into a session with praise and worship led by Adam Bitter and a talk from Dan Huss, this week’s host. The campers were able to break into their small groups to discuss and journal. The night concluded with adoration.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 02 (Life Teen), Day 05

High schoolers spent the morning of day five at Covecrest split in a men’s session and a women’s session. The men were able to spend time together in fellowship and prayer while the women spent time with their sisters in adoration. After lunch, campers competed in the gauntlet. It was an afternoon full of mud and friendly competition.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 02 (Life Teen), Day 04

Life Teen started day four of “Epic Adventures” with some of the teens on the high ropes course while the other half went white water rafting. In the afternoon, teens had some free time to play GaGa and relay pictionary. After conquering their fears and spending time in fellowship, they were able to enjoy Mass, celebrated by Fr. Paul Salemi. Mikey Needleman led praise and worship before a session on “Epic Prayer.” The night ended with the most epic form of prayer, adoration.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 02 (Life Teen), Day 03

Day three of week two at Covecrest was filled with “epic adventures.” Some tackled the high and low ropes course while others went white water rafting. The day concluded with an evening session where Mike Gormley, this week’s host, gave a talk and encouraged teens to allow the Holy Spirit to guide them in their lives. After that, they had some time to discuss and journal in their small groups.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 02 (Life Teen), Day 02

Teens started the second day of “Epic Adventures” with messy games! They got to slide down a giant mud slide, pour oatmeal on each other and hang out by the waterfall. After lunch, teens enjoyed some free time and then headed to Mass, celebrated by Fr. Paul Salemi. In the evening, the teens were able to go to reconciliation, pray in the chapel and journal.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 02 (Life Teen), Day 01

Covecrest kicked off day one of “Epic Adventures” for Life Teen with a medieval festival! Campers jousted, played tug o’ war and pie’d youth ministers. Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 01 (Edge), Day 05

Edge students spent the last full day of camp with some free time to grow in fellowship and community. Some bonded over friendly games of soccer and volleyball while others spent the morning jamming out with their friends in the art barn. After a morning of friendly games, it was time to get messy one last time! Campers spent the afternoon competing in the “Gauntlet.” It was an afternoon filled with pudding, whiffle ball, slides and of course, mud!

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 01 (Edge), Day 04

Campers at Covecrest spent day four going on “xtreme adventures!” Some grabbed their water shoes and sunscreen and went tubing down the river, while others took on the ropes course once more. Whether it was relaxing and playing in the water or flying down the zip line, campers kept their adventures “xtreme!”

2011 Camp Covecrest, Week 01 (Edge), Day 03

Edge students spent day three on the ropes course! They took on the high ropes course to conquer their fears. Campers flew down the zip line, climbed rock walls and shouted words of encouragement to their brothers and sisters of Christ. They also enjoyed the low ropes course for some team building activities were they learned to communicate and trust each other.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 01 (Edge), Day 02

Campers started day two of “Xtreme Adventures” celebrating Mass with Fr. José Robles-Sanchez, Fr. Paul Salemi and Fr. Bill Hao. Music for mass was led by Jackie Francois and Greg Boudreaux. The rest of the day was spent enjoying the sun. Campers played Gaga, soccer, made arts and crafts in the Art Barn and made tie-dye shirts. Then it was time to get messy! Edge students poured slime on each other, flew down a mud slide and dove into the mud pit to finish off the messy games.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 01 (Edge), Day 01

Edge students from different parishes came together at Camp Covecrest today. They dove into icebreaker games in the afternoon and in the evening, enjoyed praise and worship led by Jackie Francois. Steve Allgeyer, this week’s host, spoke to the campers before they headed out for a game of “Survive Covecrest.” The campers ended the night as all nights should end, in a giant dance party.

2010 Camp Covecrest, Week 09 (Life Teen), Day 5

The final messy games day of LIfe Teen summer camp at Covecrest were successful on Day 5 of Week 9, but had to be cut short because of thunderstorms. Teens had their fair share of messy games, but didn’t have the opportunity to get in the mud pit. Before family-style dinner, Fr. Paul Salemi celebrated Mass. 2010 Camp Covecrest, Week 09 (Life Teen), Day 4

Day 4 of Week 9 at Covecrest brought with it thunderstorms in the afternoon, so instead of doing high and low ropes, teens stayed inside and were given the task of coming up with their own skits to perform. Then a dance party ensued, and fun was had by all. The girl groups had the opportunity to go out and do a few low ropes stations. Mass was celebrated in the evening, when the half the teens came back from whitewater rafting all day, and the evening session focused on the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Read more [...]

2010 Camp New England, Week 17 (Life Teen), Day 5

Teens started the last full day of camp with praise and worship led by Chris Taucar and a walking rosary in their small groups. Kickball warmed the teens up for the afternoon which brought messy games consisting of paint, oatmeal and flour, water, and sleeping bags. A soap soaked slip and slide attempted to clean everyone off but was not successful. The whole messy group jumped in the lake and showered afterwards. Once they were all clean, the night session began beholding the mystery of prayer starting with Mass and followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. The sacraments were celebrated by parish priest from St. Agnes, Fr. Tom Albrechg. Host Joe Chernowski led the teens deep into the session inspiring them to go to Jesus for everything.

2010 Camp New England, Week 17 (Life Teen), Day 4

The fourth day of “Behold the Mystery” Summer Camp mainly consisted of tubing down Farmington River in Connecticut. Teens and chaperones enjoyed relaxing on the river before going back to camp and jumping into the session on the mystery of God’s mercy especially in Reconciliation. Joe Chernowski hosted and Chris Taucar led music.

2010 Camp Covecrest, Week 09 (Life Teen), Day 3

Day 3 with Life Teen campers of week 9 at Covecrest opened up early for half of the camp, who went whitewater rafting while the other half stayed at camp to do high and low ropes courses. Once everyone came back together in the afternoon, the seven priests at camp this week celebrated Mass on a special day — the feast day of Saint John Vianney, the patron saint of priests.
