Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 01 (Edge), Day 05

It may have been the last full day for the first Edge week at Camp Tepeyac but it didn’t hold back on the fun and the prayers. Campers started off the day with mass. After some free time, they split into groups to tackle the obstacle course which spanned camp. Victory celebrations led into host Brian Kelsch talking about victories over obstacles. Musician Grae McCullough led praise and worship while the teens had a chance to go to the summer staffers and chaperones to be prayed over. It was a night truly blessed by the Holy Spirit.

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 01 (Edge), Day 04

Day four at Camp Tepeyac gave the campers lots of opportunities to work together and conquer their fears. Guys and girls split up again to use teamwork on the low ropes course and to climb the Tango Tour and take on the zip line. The boys stayed with their brothers and the girls stayed with their sisters to enjoy fellowship in mass and in session. The night ended with a powerful Adoration session, led by Grae McCullough. Brian Kelsch was the host.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 06 (Life Teen), Day 5

Teens at Covecrest spent the last full day of camp overcoming obstacles. Everyone participated in the gauntlet, an obstacle course around camp, and wasted no time getting messy! After overcoming physical obstacles, teens headed to an evening session on “Epic Life.” Longtime friend of Covecrest and Life Teen, Happy, shared how to turn those obstacles into blessings and to always be happy.

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 01 (Edge), Day 03

Day three of the Edge week at Camp Tepeyac was filled with lots of fun outside! The guys and girls split up to tackle the high ropes course and play paintball. Afterwards, host Brian Kelsch spoke and musician Grae McCullough gave a witness. Campers celebrated mass outside at night and processed, following the monstrance to the South Lodge.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 06 (Life Teen), Day 4

Day four at Covecrest was spent diving into “epic adventures!” Teens were challenged on the high and low ropes course in the morning. They were able to face some of their fears while their brothers and sisters cheered on words of encouragement. Following the ropes course was a session on “Epic Prayer.” The night concluded with the most epic form of prayer, Eucharistic Adoration!

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 01 (Edge), Day 02

The campers played hard and prayed hard on day two of Camp Tepeyac’s first Edge week! The morning started out with a bible study led by host Brian Kelsch, followed by organized free time. Next up were the weekly messy games, with plenty of paint and water flying around. Worship leader Grae McCullough led music for mass at the outdoor amphitheatre before dinner and a beautiful reconciliation service. Afterwards, we celebrated God’s mercy with a bonfire!

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 06 (Life Teen), Day 3

Day three at Covecrest was a day full of “epic adventures.” Some campers went white water rafting while others tackled the high and low ropes courses. After a fun-filled day, everyone gathered in the amphitheater for Mass celebrated by Fr. Eric Schild. The evening was spent in a session where Joe Farris, this week’s host, gave a talk on “Epic Spirit.” Teens then had the chance to invite the Holy Spirit into their hearts while the Summer Staff prayed over them.

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 01 (Edge), Day 01

Summer staffers at Tepeyac were excited to welcome their first campers for the summer. The first half day started with games, dancing, and praise and worship before diving into the Lectio Divina, led by host Brian Kelsch and worship leader Grae McCullough. The night culminated in an X-treme game of “Survive Tepeyac!” and a glowstick-filled dance party. It was a great start to what promises to be great week!

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 06 (Life Teen), Day 2

Campers kicked off day two of “Epic Adventures” with some messy games! Teens enjoyed the water slide, a nice messy game of Drip Drip Drop and diving into the mud pit! After spending the afternoon getting messy, teens gathered for a session on receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This week’s host, Joe Farris, started the session with a talk followed by a chance for campers to go to Reconciliation.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 06 (Life Teen), Day 1

“Life Teeners” came to Camp Covecrest today to start day one of their “epic adventure.” We kicked off camp with a medieval festival complete with jousting, chariot racing and dragon pooping! After the festival, everyone gathered for a session that started with praise and worship led by John-Paul and Sheila Papuzynski. Following praise and worship was a talk on “Epic Love” by Joe Farris, this week’s host.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 05 (Edge), Day 5

Day five at Camp Covecrest was spent overcoming obstacles. During the day, Edge campers helped each other get through every obstacle the gauntlet threw at them. After sliding down hills, crawling through mud and running in the creek, everyone cleaned up to head to a session about how to overcome every obstacle life throws at you.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 05 (Edge), Day 4

Edge campers spent the morning of day four tubing and tackling the ropes course. In the afternoon, the boys and girls were split into separate sessions and Masses to learn what it means to be true men and women of God. Campers gathered at the end of the night in adoration where they were able to pray over their brothers and sisters.

Campers spent day three at Covecrest going on “xtreme adventures.” Some groups went tubing while others tackled the high and low ropes courses. After a fun-filled day, campers gathered together to celebrate Mass in the evening. The night ended as all nights should, in Eucharistic Adoration.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 05 (Edge), Day 2

Campers started day two of “Xtreme Adventures” with some free time in the morning to play games and hang out in the Art Barn for some arts and crafts. They were also able to hang out with Greg Boudreaux, this week’s musician, for a jam session. After some free time, it was time to get messy! Campers enjoyed sliding down the mud slide and pouring oatmeal on each other during messy games. Everyone then cleaned off to gather for a session on Reconciliation. Campers were then able to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 05 (Edge), Day 1

Parishes from all over gathered at Camp Covecrest today for the first day of “Xtreme Adventures!” Edge campers enjoyed icebreaker games before heading into the first session of camp. Kevin Hickey, this week’s host, gave a talk on feeling excluded and accepting others. Campers were then able to break into small groups where had a chance to get to know each other better.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 04 (Edge), Day 05

Campers spent the last full day at Covecrest participating in “xtreme adventures.” In the morning, campers had a chance to play games, play music and do some arts and crafts with each other. After that, Edge students wasted no time getting messy and competed in the gauntlet. During the night session, campers broke into their small groups where they shared and prayed over each other.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 04 (Edge), Day 04

Campers spent the morning of day four tackling the ropes course once more. In the afternoon, campers were split into a girls session and a boys session where girls were able to spend Mass with their sisters and boys with their brothers. They continued to have separate sessions until that evening when they were brought together for adoration.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 04 (Edge), Day 03

Campers spent day three of “Xtreme Adventures” on the ropes course where they were able to encourage their friends and work together. In the evening, everyone joined together for Mass, celebrated by Fr. Tom Rafferty with Michael Paul Leon leading praise and worship. Mass concluded with adoration and a time for everyone to pray together as a family.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 04 (Edge), Day 02

Campers began day two at Covecrest with some organized free time where they were able to play games, tie dye shirts at the Art Barn and jam with this week’s musician, Michael Paul Leon. Then it was time to get messy! The afternoon was filled with water balloons, mud, slides and more mud! In the evening, this week’s host, Jimmy Mitchell started the session with a talk about reconciliation. The campers were then able to receive the sacrament of reconciliation and spend some time in prayer.

Edge students from all over gathered at Camp Covecrest today to start their “Xtreme Adventure!” Teens were able to get to know each other by playing some icebreaker games before heading to their first session. Michael Paul Leon led praise and worship before Jimmy Mitchell, this week’s host, began the session. The night ended in a giant dance party!
