Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 04 (Life Teen), Day 05

The last full day at Camp Tepeyac for the summer was full of teamwork, fun, and prayer. The day started off with men’s and women’s sessions and organized free time. After that, the campers geared up to run the Gauntlet. They got covered in water and mud and worked as teams to conquer the challenge. They celebrated their victories with a dance party on the basketball court. Musician Mikey Needleman led some worship before host Lisa Garcia gave a beautiful witness. The cross was processed from the amphitheater to the South Lodge and led into mass and adoration. God was incredibly generous with His grace this week!

Camp New England 2011, Week 2 (Life Teen), Day 5

On their last full day of their Epic adventure, the teens were split once more into guy and girl sessions. The guys went on an adventure to find a hidden treasure, while the girls enjoyed some Adoration. In the afternoon, teens participated in an obstacle course called THE GAUNTLET! They had to work together as a team to get everyone to the finish line. In the evening, the teens had their session on Epic Life. To finish off their last night at camp, the teens celebrated mass, and there was a procession of the Blessed Sacrament.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 09 (Life Teen), Day 5

Everyone enjoyed the last full day of camp at Camp Covecrest today. Teens gathered in their parishes to compete in the gauntlet for the chance to pie someone in the face. After spending the afternoon overcoming physical obstacles, teens gathered for an evening session on overcoming life obstacles. The topic for the session was “Epic Life” with special guest speaker, Happy.

Camp New England 2011, Week 2 (Life Teen), Day 4

On day four of their epic adventure, the teens were split into guys and girls again and had separate sessions on being Men and Women of God. After session, the teens travelled to the Fatima Shrine for a rosary walk and mass. The afternoon was casual, playing ultimate frisbee, capture the flag, and the much anticipated MESSY GAMES! That night there was a session on Epic Prayer, where the teens were given time to journal, and then spent an hour in front of the Blessed Sacrament.

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 4 (Life Teen), Day 4

It was another day of conquering fears in the sunshine at Camp Tepeyac today! This morning, the guys headed into a men’s session and to low ropes while their sisters tackled the Tango tower. In the afternoon, they traded places, with the ladies in session and low ropes and the boys taking on the tower and the zip line. Later, the campers got to celebrate mass outside at the amphitheater before session led by host Lisa Garcia and a talk from worship leader Mikey Needleman. The campers were called to embrace silence and practiced with journaling and adoration.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 09 (Life Teen), Day 4

Day four at Camp Covecrest was yet another spirit-filled day. Teens spent the morning tackling high and low ropes courses while others tackled the river and went white water rafting. The evening session was on “Epic Prayer” where the campers had the chance to pray during adoration.

Camp New England 2011, Week 02 (Life Teen), Day 3

On Day 3 of their Epic Adventure, the teens were split into a guys group and a girls group. In the morning the guy’s had a session with Eric Porteous, while the girls went out onto the low ropes course. After their session, the guy’s had organized free time. In the afternoon, the girls had their session, lead by two missionaries, Carrie Bigley and Jilina Damin, and the guys went out on to the low ropes course. Mass was held just before dinner, and the teens then dove into a session called Epic Spirit. To finish off the evening, each teen experienced being prayed over by their youth minister and summer missionaries.

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 04 (Life Teen), Day 03

It was a day of challenges and facing fears today at Camp Tepeyac. The campers took on the high ropes course and the paintball field today, spending time with their brothers and sisters, affirming each other and working as teams. After their challenges outside, the teens were challenged to enter deeply into mass and reconciliation, led by worship leader Mikey Needleman and host Lisa Garcia. God’s grace and mercy were abundant tonight and the campers celebrated with a bonfire.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 09 (Life Teen), Day 3

Teens spent the morning of day three at Covecrest tackling the ropes course and going white water rafting. After campers spent the day conquering their fears, it was time to head to an evening session led by Randy Raus, this week’s host. The night was on “Epic Spirit” and diving into the Holy Spirit. Teens had the chance to be prayed over by youth ministers, core members and summer staffers in front of the Blessed Sacrament.

Camp New England 2011, Week 2 (Life Teen), Day 2

On day two of their Epic Adventure, teens ventured out to a High/Low ropes course. Teens were challenged to trust their fellow brothers and sisters in a series of team building exercises, and braved their fears on a series of High Ropes stations. Upon returning home, the teens had mass, and then were served dinner family-style with their parish. The session that night was called Epic Rescue. The evening was spent deep in prayer, and the teens were given the opportunity to go to Confession. The evening concluded with joyful praise and worship at a “No Sin Party!”

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 04 (Life Teen), Day 02

It was a crazy, messy, and fun day at Camp Tepeyac! The Life Teen campers started the morning off with guys and girls sessions, beginning to dive into their identities as men and women, created in the image and likeness of God. They ventured from there to different parts of the camp for organized free time. Next were messy games with plenty of paint, “yuck”, and water. After, the campers dove into lectio divina with today’s Gospel, praying through Peter stepping out of the boat. The teens were invited to contemplate the Holy Spirit in their lives, thanks to worship led by Mikey Needleman and a talk by host Lisa Garcia. The chaperones were prayed over by the summer staff, and in turn prayed over their teens. They were graced at the end to celebrate God’s love with an EPIC dance party.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 09 (Life Teen), Day 2

Day two at Covecrest was a fun-filled day. Teens started the day with Mass after some organized free time, celebrated by Fr. Joe Fitzgerald. After Mass it was time to get messy! Parishes spent the afternoon participating in messy games which included throwing water balloons, pouring oatmeal on each other and diving into the mud pit! Campers cleaned off to head to an evening session led by Randy Raus, this week’s host, on “Epic Rescue.” Following the session was a chance for everyone to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Camp New England 2011, Week 2 (Life Teen), Day 1

On the first day of Life Teen’s Epic Adventure, the teens arrived eager to jump into activities. Teens could take part in a number of games including GA GA, Can Jam, and Ninja as they waited for the first session to begin. After watching a few skits, teens took part in ice breakers, and then had their first dinner together. Eric Porteous lead the teens in their first session on Epic Love. The teens capped off the night with a Dragons vs Knights game called Survive Batania!

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 04 (Life Teen), Day 01

Camp Tepeyac welcomed its last week of campers for the summer today and the staff could not be more excited to have them! The day started off with registration, parish pictures, and ice breakers. The campers got to play games in the Medieval festival and win the chance to “dunk” their chaperones. Afterwards, worship leader Mikey Needleman led praise and worship before host Lisa Garcia spoke about God’s “epic love”. They ended the night with the celebration of the mass. It is sure to be a glorious week!

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 09 (Life Teen), Day 1

Teens from all over gathered at Camp Covecrest today to start day one of their “epic adventure!” Campers were welcomed by the summer staff and enjoyed a medieval festival complete with jousting, chariot racing and tug o’ war. After a fun-filled festival, teens headed into their first session. Randy Raus, this week’s host, gave a talk on “Epic Love” with Josh Blakesley leading praise and worship. Parishes then met with their small groups and gathered back together to dive into God’s love during adoration.

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 03 (Edge), Day 05

For the last full day of the Edge week at Camp Tepeyac, the campers had opportunities all day to tackle obstacles. The day started with organized free time, leading into Mass. With the strength they gained from the Eucharist, they were able to run the obstacle course and have an outdoor dance party. The evening featured praise and worship by worship leader Gabe Reyes and an empowering talk on obstacles from host Joe Chernowski, preparing the teens to go into battle when the come off the mountain. Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 08 (Life Teen), Day 5

Teens spent day five at Covecrest overcoming obstacles. Campers spent the day competing against other parishes in the gauntlet for the chance to pie their summer staffer in the face. In the evening session, longtime friend of Covecrest, Happy, gave a talk on “Epic Life.” The session was about overcoming life obstacles.

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 03 (Edge), Day 04

Edge campers continued to conquer their fears today at Camp Tepeyac! They greeted the morning from the top of the Tango Tower, tackling the rock wall, the spider web, Jacob’s Ladder, and the zip line. Next, they took it to the ground for low ropes, working on team building and trusting their brothers and sisters. Building on that trust and fellowship, they celebrated mass and had men’s and women’s sessions. The night was closed with an incredibly powerful adoration session. God is good and provides so generously!

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 08 (Life Teen), Day 4

Teens spent day four at Camp Covecrest going on epic adventures! Some went white water rafting while others encouraged each other on the ropes courses. In the evening, everyone gathered for Mass, celebrated by Msgr. Moyer. After Mass, Br. Paul Kostka led a session on “Epic Prayer” where everyone got to pray in front of the Blessed Sacrament. During adoration, teens had the chance to dive into scripture and journal.

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 03 (Edge), Day 03

Today was another day of sun, fun, and prayers at Camp Tepeyac! The Edge campers ventured out to conquer their fears and channel their inner monkeys on the high ropes course in the morning. After lunch, the campers split up for paintball and bowling. They came together in the evening for a session by host Joe Chernowski and a witness by worship leader Gabe Reyes. The night was ended with a starlight mass and a Eucharistic procession to the South Lodge.
